HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSIONER IN REPUBLIC OF BASHKORTOSTAN
Biography:
Born on October 23, 1944 in the village of Usmangali, Byeloretsk district, Republic of Bashkortostan.
In 1958 finished the course of 7th grade of high school and was enrolled as student at Byeloretsk Metallurgy College, where he completed his studies in 1962.
In 1962 and 1963, according to the direction received, worked in Orenburg as mechanical foreman at the furniture plant.
In 1963, was conscripted to the Navy. Served on board the ”Murmanskiy Komsomolets” submarine until November 1967.
Having served out, worked at the Pilot Repair Plant in Ufa, in the capacities of shop manager and chief foreman, since 1967 until 1972.
In 1968 entered the remote learning course at Ufa Department of Sverdlovsk Law Institute. In 1972, moved to the full-time department of Sverdlovsk Law Institute, and, upon graduation in 1974, received a work placement within public prosecution bodies of Bashkortostan where he worked until December 1996. Held a variety of offices, from a probationer’s position to the posts of Public Prosecutor for the Leninskiy district of Ufa, Public Prosecutor for the cities of Salavat and Ufa, and First Vice-Prosecutor of the Republic.
Holds the rank of Class 3 State Councilor of Justice. In 1992, was entitled as Merited Jurist of Russian Federation; awarded a breastplate “Honorary Prosecutions Officer of Russian Federation" in 1994.
Pursuant to the Article 88 of the Constitution of Republic of Bashkortostan and to the Law of Bashkortostan "On the Commissioner on Human Rights in the Republic of Bashkortostan" of April 29, 1996, on December 7, 1996 Ch. Gazizov was assigned by the State Assembly of Republic of Bashkortostan as Commissioner on Human rights for the Republic of Bashkortostan. On December 7, 1996 he was administered the oath and entered upon office.
Due to expiration of his 4-years’ commission, on the meeting of the State Assembly of Republic of Bashkortostan, pursuant to the Decree of the State Assembly of Republic of Bashkortostan of December 26, 2000 Ch. Gazizov was assigned as Commissioner on Human rights for the Republic of Bashkortostan for a second term.
